Dear Mrs. Haefner's Class, It is so interesting to read your blog and your responses! I remember when I was in Elementary school and my mom would hatch chicks with her students... we would get to watch them grow and meet them when they were hatched. We would be able to see the chicks growing in the egg by holding a flashlight up to the egg in the dark. I know that once a chick breaks out of an egg, it is an adorable little baby with soft fur. As the chick grows up, it loses its baby fur and grows feathers as it turns into a chicken. When that chick is a chicken, it is able to lay its own eggs and start the life cycle all over again! I look forward to peeking in on your eggs during my visits. Good luck! Love, Ms. Spears
I am so proud of you all for the way you are investigating the life cycle of chicks the way real scientists would! When you write your responses in your blog, you are using your writing skills for a real world activity! As your principal, this tells me you are learning and growing -- JUST LIKE THE CHICKS WILL! I look forward to seeing them hatch and grow, the same way I enjoy watching all of you learn and grow!
Frist, the hen lays the egg.Next, you have to wait 21 days to hatch. Then, the egg hatches and out pops a litlie chick!Last, the chick hatches and grows up to a hen then the life cycle starts again!
Please remember to write in complete sentences when you answer the questions on our blog.
